Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog!
To all of our graduates, we want to congratulate you, and wish you God's
best in the years ahead. I pray that all of you will do as the Apostle
did in Philippians 3:14: "I press toward the goal for the
prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Remember that the
Lord has a plan for your life, and He will truly bless you, when you follow
His plan, instead of your own! God bless each of you! GP

God Wants To See Us!
Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog
"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let
us encourage one another---and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
(Hebrews 10:25)
Our attendance has been down the last two Sundays. I want to remind us of
how important gathering together as God people is to God, and to the members
of His family. For God it is a time for Him to be lifted up, and exalted in
the community. For us it is a time to worship Him, and to let Him know how
much we love Him, and are grateful for all that He has done for us.
It is also a time to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God, and to encourage
one another. To support each other as we go through these challenging days.
I know that I miss my family who live away. We don't see them very often.
God feels the same way, when His people stay away, and pursue other priorities,
it hurts Him. Hope to see you this Sunday. GP

New Life, New Beginnings
Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog
I want to begin by saying thank you to everyone who
helped with our Easter programs this year. We want to
thank the young men of the young adult Sunday School
class for providing a wonderful Easter Breakfast.
I hope that the sermon series "O How He Loves You And Me"
Was an encouragement.
As we look down the road, we head to Mother's Day, and to
graduation. Our graduates this year are Brooke Fowler and
Aaron Lewman who will graduate from high school.
Brian Seever Jr. Lane Fowler, Caigen Atzenweiler, Breana Nitz,
will be graduating from eighth grade. If you know of others,
please let me know (garydpatterson@yahoo.com) We congratulate
our graduates as they look forward to what God has for them, in
the future. This is a wonderful time of year. With the beginning of
new life around us, we also realize that it is a time for new
opportunities to grow and mature as Christians. Peter writes to
His readers concerning a warning and a goal. "Therefore, dear
friends, since you alread know this (concerning the possible
distortion of the truth) be on your guard so that you may not be
carried away by the error of lawless men, and fall from your
secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now
and forever." (2 Peter 3:17-18) Let's keep growing.

Walking In The Love Of Jesus!
Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog
I have been presenting a sermon series based on the hymn
"O How He Loves You And Me." I hope that so far, it has
been an encouragement. I want us to really get ahold of the
fact that we were, and are, really loved by Jesus. He told
us in John 15:9 "As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved
you. Now remain in My love." Through this Easter week, let's
do just that! Let's place ourselves in the love, and grace of
our Lord. Let's remember the promises, let's remember the
victories, and let's look forward to our future hope.
Our resurrection, that Jesus made possible for us! GP

"O How He Loves You And Me"
Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog
Last Sunday I began a sermon series entitled "O How He Loves You And Me"
Last week we looked at how Jesus, not only loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus,
but the world. This Sunday we will be Looking at John 13, where Jesus washed
the disciples feet, and set an example for them, and us, in service to one
another. John 13:1 says: "It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that
the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved
his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love."
In the washing of the disciples feet, Jesus set the stage for how He would love,
and serve the world. By going to the cross of Calvary, He would demonstrate,
how much love He had for the world. That includes you and I.
"O How He Loves, You and Me!" Let's be mindful of this not just on Easter, but
everyday of our lives. GP

Oh How He Loves You And Me!
Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog (3/13/2012)
In the weeks leading up to Easter, I will be bringing messages, that
speak about the love that Jesus showed us during "The Passion Week"
John the Gospel writer said it well: "Now before the feast of the
Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should
depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were
in the world, He loved them to the end." (John 13:1)
As Christians we can put our name there as belonging to Jesus, and
experiencing His eternal love. As we go through our day to day
routines, lets be mindful of how much Jesus loves us. Jesus' love
does not stop at the cross of Calvary. He demonstrates His love, for us
everyday, as we find Him right beside us, helping us deal with the
challenges of life.
As the song says: "Oh How He Loves, You, And Me!"

On To The State Tournament! Congratulations!
Welcome To The Cummings Christian Church Blog.
Congratulations to Brooke Fowler, and Tannah Ernzen and the ACCHS
girls basketball team. They will be playing in the State tournament at
Hutchison, KS. And also congratulations to both the boys and girls
basketball team of Jefferson County North High School who will be
playing in the state tournamnet, I believe at Manhattan, KS.
Congratulations to all!
As we think about this competition, we need to remember that as Christians,
we are all on the same team, living our lives against the influence of a severe
adversary. Let us remember the words of Peter, and all be on guard. "Be sober,
be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
